I Come Before the Cross
"I Come Before the Cross"
I stumble through the wreckage
Of a life lived selfishly;
The trash beneath my soiled feet
Demands I pay a fee.
What is this fee demanded?
I don't know what to do;
I find myself in sacred place
With One I never knew.
I find that He has paid the fee,
I wonder, "What's the catch?"
I find that love awaits me there
Where heart and Spirit match.
I give to Him my wretched life,
That's good enough for Him;
No matter that this filthy life
Is seen in light grown dim.
He gives to me a fresh, new life
And takes the trash away;
Sweet Jesus saves me from myself
And starts another day.
I come before the cross,
My spirit tossed and torn;
I come before the cross
And leave the pain I've worn.
No other place has touched me,
No other love I've known;
I come before the cross
And find I'm not alone.

Love So Great
"Love So Great"
The nails that pierced those blessed hands
Set free the lost across the lands;
A road began at Calvary
And spared no pain for victory.
Oh, see the Son of God hung there
Where people come to point and stare;
My spirit knows no other grace
Nor sees no other precious face.
Dear Jesus, You have made me whole
And placed my name on heaven’s roll;
I cannot fathom love so great,
A stronger love than strongest hate.
I give to You this weary heart
And know we’ll never be apart;
Your grace has made this life anew,
Dear King of Glory, I love You.

Crown of Thorns
"Crown of Thorns"
Crown of thorns, crown of thorns,
The love has pierced my soul;
The blood upon my Savior’s face
Is blood that made me whole.
The crown that caused my Savior pain,
The thorns that pierced His brow,
The crown that held no earthly jewels
Now pierce my heart somehow.
A crown no earthly king could wear,
A crown grown from the ground;
They forced it down upon His head,
Heaven and earth were bound.
Crown of thorns, crown of thorns,
Exchanged for crown of life;
My Savior died to set me free,
My conscience knows no strife.
Crown of thorns, crown of thorns,
Forever held in time;
A symbol of eternal life
And dearest love sublime.

Blood Divine
"But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God, that you may declare the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His wonderful light. Once you were not a people, but now you are the people of God; once you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy."
(1 Peter 2:9-10)
"Blood Divine"
I left my tattered heart at Calvary
Where Jesus hung to claim the victory;
As blood flowed forth I traded heart for heart,
He healed my life as His life came apart.
The person that I was no longer lives,
The heart that now consumes me gives and gives;
The life I live no longer is my own,
I gave it to the One who did atone.
He took my sins into that cold, dark tomb,
I'm born again, set free from sinner's womb;
My Jesus is the reason I'm alive,
The reason that I know I will survive.
I left my tattered heart at Calvary,
The chains are gone, this sinner is set free;
I'm healed, I'm whole, because His heart is mine,
The blood that flows through me is blood divine.
