Your First Love
So many young people stray away from the Lord when they get a boyfriend or girlfriend or when they go to college. It's like they forget all about Jesus and what He did for them. They stop going to church, and I hate to say this, but they probably stop praying or reading their Bible. After all, He's not really in their hearts anymore. "Yet I hold this against you: You have forsaken your first love." (Rev. 2:4 NIV) Yes, Jesus Christ should be a Christian's first love. He should be on our minds and our hearts when we awaken in the morning and when we go to bed at night. We should think of Him often and tell Him how much we love Him. How much more should we do that for Him than we do it for those we love here on earth? Look what He did for us, and yet how many times do we forsake Him? Jesus Christ: first in our hearts forever.
