Follow Me

Lk 9:59 He said to another man, “Follow me.” But the man replied, “Lord, first let me go and bury my father.” Lk 9:60 Jesus said to him, “Let the dead bury their own dead, but you go and proclaim the kingdom of God.” Lk 9:61 Still another said, “I will follow you, Lord; but first let me go back and say good-by to my family.” Lk 9:62 Jesus replied, “No one who puts his hand to the plow and looks back is fit for service in the kingdom of God.” Dear sisters, when we accept Christ as our Savior and begin walking with Him, He doesn't want us placing activities or things or people before Him. He doesn't want us looking back behind us and clinging to Him at the same time. He doesn't want us so busy with our ministries that we have no time for Him. When Martha complained to Jesus that Mary wasn't helping her with the dinner preparations, Jesus informed Martha that Mary had chosen correctly. (Luke 10:38-42) You see, she chose Jesus over work. He is to come first in all things at all times. Sometimes we have to turn our schedules and ministries over to Him and admit to Him that we need Him to take over and organize our lives. He is the Master Organizer!
